WELCOME
Welcome to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, Colorado. It is our goal that all women be healthy and all infants well-born. The Obstetrics and Gynecology Department consist of OB/GYN Clinic; Mountain Post Birthing Center that provides Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby Unit, and the Special Care Nursery.
CLINIC HOURS
Monday--Friday from 0730--1615, except for Federal Holidays.
Labor and Delivery, the Mother-Baby Unit, and the Special Care Nursery are always open, and are available to answer patients’ questions.

SERVICES We offer a full range of obstetric and gynecologic services including: |

Complete Obstetric Care: Pre-natal care; labor and delivery; post-partum care; obstetric ultrasound; non-stress testing; amniocentesis, and a premature prevention program. Occasionally, conditions require obstetric patients to be diverted to another facility. In this case, patients are first evaluated on Labor and Delivery, and any decision to transfer is made on a case-by-case basis by the attending provider.
Well Woman Health Maintenance Program: Including pelvic exam; pap smear; breast exam; and mammography referral.
Contraceptive Counseling: Pregnancy testing; birth control pills; the intrauterine device; the diaphragm; Nuva Rings; Depo Provera; and female sterilization (tubal ligation) are available. Information about male sterilization (vasectomy) is also available.
Screening and Treatment for Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD): Our department works in conjunction with the Preventive Medicine Department to ensure proper treatment.
Infertility Evaluation: Active Duty Only
Colposcopy and Biopsy: This is for the evaluation of cervical, uterine, vaginal, and vulvar abnormalities.
Evaluation of Other Gynecologic Problems: Surgery is scheduled when indicated.
For high-risk obstetric cases that require the expertise of a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Specialist, we refer our patients to the MFM services at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.
For gynecologic services beyond our scope of practice, we refer our patients to specialists at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (UCHSC) in Denver. UCHSC is part of the Tricare Network, and it’s referral specialties include Gynecologic Oncology; the Chronic Pain Clinic; and Reproductive Endocrinology (Infertility).
