Directions: The OB/GYN clinic is located on the west (Mountain side) of the hospital. Patients should utilize Patient Parking Area A for access to the OB/GYN Clinic and Department Personnel. Enter the main west entrance, room 1200. Expectant mothers and disabled parking is located on the east and west sides of the hospital adjacent to the building (designated parking pass required).
ABOUT US: Welcome to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at EACH. It is our goal that all women be healthy and all infants well-born. The Obstetrics and Gynecology Department consist of the OB/GYN Clinic; Mountain Post Birthing Center that provides a Labor & Delivery Unit; Mother-Baby Unit; and Special Care Nursery. The OB/GYN clinic and MPBC accept Active Duty, Tricare Prime beneficiaries.
STAFFING: The OB/GYN clinic staff consists of board certified or board eligible OB/GYN physicians and Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM). The Department has Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA), Medical Assistants (MA's) and Medical Administration staff in the clinic an on the wards. All professional licenses are verified by the hospital credentials office.
Services: We offer a full range of obstetric and gynecologic services including:
Complete Obstetric Care: Pre-natal care; labor and delivery; post-partum care; obstetric ultrasound; non-stress testing; amniocentesis, and a premature prevention program. Occasionally conditions require obstetric patients to be diverted to another facility. In this case, patients are first evaluated on Labor and Delivery, and any decision to transfer is made on a case-by-case basis by the attending providers. For high-risk obstetric cases that require the expertise of a Maternal-fetal Medicine (MFM) Specialist, we offer our patients MFM services at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs and/or Southern Colorado at Penrose
Well Woman Health Maintenance Program: Including pelvic exam; pap smear; breast exam; and mammography referral. For gynecologic services beyond our scope of practice, we refer our patients to specialists at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (UCHSC) in Denver. USHSC is part of the Tricare Network and it's referral specialties include Gynecologic Oncology; The Chronic Pain Clinic; and Reproductive Endocrinology (Infertility).
Contraceptive Counseling: Pregnancy testing; birth control counseling and alternatives and female sterilization (tubal ligation) are available. Information about male sterilization (vasectomy) is also available
Screening and Treatment of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD): Our department works in conjunction with the Preventive Medicine Department to ensure proper treatment.
