Colonel Kelly A.
Wolgast assumed duties as the Commander, Evans Army Community Hospital,
Fort Carson, Colorado on 12 June 2007. Prior to this assignment, COL
Wolgast served as the Deputy Commander and Chief Nurse for the 14th
Combat Support Hospital, Fort Benning, Georgia. COL Wolgast deployed with
the 14th
CSH to New Orleans, Louisiana in support of hurricane relief operations
and Operation Katrina and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation
Enduring Freedom VII.

A native of Rochester,
New York, COL Wolgast graduated as a ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate
and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Penn State
University, State College, Pennsylvania. She holds a Master of Science in
Nursing from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, is a graduate of
the Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas and
holds a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College,
Carlisle, Pennsylvania. She is a Certified Healthcare Executive with the
American College of Healthcare Executives and is a member of Sigma Theta
Tau International, the National Honor Society of Nursing. COL Wolgast is a
member of the Association of the United States Army, the United States
Army War College Alumni Association, the Army Nurse Corps Association and
the Interagency Institute for Federal Healthcare Executives.
COL Wolgast’s awards
and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service
Medal, four awards of the Meritorious Service Medal, two awards of the
Army Commendation Medal, two awards of the Joint Service Achievement
Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense
Service Ribbon (with Star Device), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War
on Terrorism Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Army Service Medal,
Overseas Medal (with 2 Device), NATO Medal, and the Expert Field Medical
Badge. COL Wolgast has also been inducted into the prestigious Order of
Military Medical Merit.
