These programs are made possible for military sponsored
ID card holders over 18 years of age through a
partnership with the American Red Cross, DENTAC and
Evens Army Community Hospital. Programs are subject to
military personnel’s availability to teach.
Dental Assistant Training Program
Dental assistants aid the dental operator provide more
efficient dental treatment by preparing the patient,
sterilizing instruments, passing instruments during the
procedure, holding a suction device and more. This
program provides each student with quality assistant
training through classroom study and hands on learning
within a dental clinic. It is an intense program in
which the duty hours are from 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday
to Friday for six months (approximately 1000 hours).
Medical Assistant Training Program – An Introduction to
the Medical Field
Medical assistants are part of the administrative aspect
of healthcare who perform administrative and clinical
tasks to support the work of
medical
doctors and other health professionals.
During the training, students will learn basic skills
for working in an out-patient clinical environment.
This is a 40 hours a week, 10 week program which
includes classroom study as well as hands on training
within medical clinics (approximately 400 hours).
There is an application process for each of these
programs that include filling out the complete
application package, writing a one page summary of why
you should be selected for the program and completing an
interview. Application dates will be posted in all
media on Fort Carson.
