The American Red Cross Fort Carson Station has a
youth volunteer program for ages 14-17 years
old. This program runs through the summer from
the end of the school year to the beginning of
the school in the fall. Once the youth
completes the summer program, their volunteering
can continue throughout the school year.
To join the program, each youth is required to
complete an application and interview process.
The volunteer positions are career oriented.
This gives the youth an opportunity to see a
field in the medical career that may be of
interest to them for their future vocation.
Applications are available during the month of
May at the Red Cross office located in Evan Army
Community Hospital. The application form will
list the in-process requirements for youth to
volunteers. One requirement we recommend not
waiting until May to complete, is having an up
to date immunization record. This is a federal
requirement for all personnel working at a
medical facility.
