COLONEL Patrick Ahearne

COL Ahearne was born in Flint, Michigan.  He graduated from the University of Michigan, School of Nursing with a Bachelors degree in 1989.  He received a Master of Science in Nursing Informatics from the University of Maryland in 1997.  COL Ahearne's military education includes: AMEDD Executive Skills Course, Command and General Staff College, Advance Nurse Leadership Course, Combined Army Services Staff School, Head Nurse Leadership Development Course and the Army Officer Advance and Basic Courses.

COL Ahearne is currently the Deputy Commander for Health Services, Evans Army Community Hospital, Fort Carson, CO.  COL Ahearne's past military assignments include:   Assistant Chief Nurse, Moncrief Army Community Hospital; Executive Staff Officer in the Chief, Army Nurse Corps office, OTSG;  Chief Clinical Operations, USA MEDDAC Bavaria; Evening/Night Supervisor, Brooke Army Medical Center; Assistant Chief Nurse, 10th Combat Support Hospital, Iraq; Head Nurse, PACU, Brooke Army Medical Center;  Personnel Management Officer, Army Human Resources Command; Chief, Camp Casey Clinic, Korea; Army Nurse Corps Staff Officer, Chief Army Nurse Corps Office;  Head Nurse, PACU, Fort Campbell, KY; Staff Nurse, EMT, 86th Combat Support Hospital, El Salvador; Team Leader, Health Care Recruiting Team, Boston, MA; Staff Nurse, ER, Madigan Army Medical Center; Staff Nurse ICW 1, 47th Combat Support Hospital, Desert Shield/Storm; Staff Nurse, Surgical Ward, Madigan Army Medical Center.

COL Ahearne's military awards include the Bronze Star Medal; Meritorious Service Medal with silver oak leaf cluster; Army Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters; the Army Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters; National Defense Service Medal with bronze star; Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 bronze stars; Iraqi Campaign Medal with two bronze stars; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Korea Defense Service Medal; the Humanitarian Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon; Saudi Arabian Kuwaiti Liberation Medal; Kuwaiti Liberation Medal; Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, and the Joint Meritorious Unit Award.
