Fort Carson Emergency Medical Services
To provide expedient, competent, and efficient medical
care to military beneficiaries, all assigned personnel, and civilians on
Fort Carson and the surrounding area. To be the subject matter experts
and trainers in current and new emergency medical pre-hospital care. To
set the standards for the greater Fort Carson region in new treatments
and protocols in the pre-hospital care arena.
Fort Carson
EMS
jurisdiction covers 630 square miles. The installation is
located near Colorado Springs in El Paso County, Colorado. The
base extends south into Pueblo and Fremont counties.
Fort Carson
EMS
provides service to over 100,000 people. Our primary mission includes staff and
residents of Fort Carson, Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station,
and the Highway 115 corridor from South Academy to the Fremont
County line.
Fort Carson is the home of the
4th Infantry Division, the
10th Special Forces Group, the
71st Ordnance Group (EOD), the
4th Engineer Battalion, the
759th Military Police Battalion, the
10th Combat Support Hospital, the
43rd Sustainment Brigade, and the
13th Air Support Operations Squadron of the
United States Air Force. The post also hosts units of the
Army Reserve, Navy Reserve and the Colorado Army National Guard.
The installation’s main urban area consists of shops, malls,
restaurants, schools, daycare facilities, administrative
buildings, motor pool maintenance facilities, a hospital, family
residential neighborhoods, and troop dormitories. The
rural areas include one main airfield; two satellite airfields
and a vast landscape of special tactical and live ordinance
military training areas.
